Samsung is said to have developed the world’s fastest mobile memory, which is called an embedded MultiMedia Card (eMMC). The capacity comes with 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB.
The new eMMC Pro memory has a speed of 400MB/s, itâs about three times faster than the current used eMMC memory, thus can obviously decrease the applicationsâ load time, according to Samsung. The new eMMC Pro memory supports the eMMC version 5.0 standard. The faster speed allows multi-tasking running, network resources downloading, blu-ray video playback. All the high speed needed, the eMMC chips can afford.
Based on tests, the chips of 32GB and 64GB have a random read speed up to 7000 IOPS (inputs/outputs per second), write speed is of 7,000 IOPS, which are 2~3 times faster than the old products. And the chipsetsâ sequential read speed is of 250MB/s, 90MB/s for the sequential write speed.
