Android tablet is now a towering one, while Windows and iPad continue to decrease

According to the market research, the share of Apple’s iPad and Windows tablets continue to decrease in the second quarter, facing the increased pressure from Android.

For the past second quarter, Apple’s share of the global tablet market decreased from 47.2 percent to 28.3 percent, compared to the same period last year. And in the first quarter of 2013, Apple’s share fell from 48.2 percent to 40.4 percent. Windows tablets also faced the same situation. According to roughly estimate, the share of Windows tablets fall from 7.4 percent to 6.4 percent in the second quarter compared to the first.

Android-based tablets continue to occupy the first place position. Of the entire tablet market including white-box ones, Android’s share climbed to 67 percent from 2012′s 51.4 percent.

An analyst said the reason of Apple’s share decline was that it lacked of launching new tablet models, and the truth is that, the Apple company did not release a new tablet since late in 2012.

Windows tablets had also faced problems in selling. It over relies on its hardware partners who make the Windows-powered hardware. The Windows tablets’ price is not competitive. The unmarketable market makes Microsoft having no choice but to cut price. Microsoft has taken corrective steps in the market strategy.
