News says iPhone 5S HOME key using convex sapphire glass

The U.S. technology media AllThingsD reported that Apple will release the next-generation iPhone in September 10. From the historical perspective, AllThingsD has an accurate forecast report about Apple releasing the new product. So in the next few weeks, Apple will almost one hundred percent launch iPhone 5S on Sept. 10.

According to the August 12 morning news, KGISecurities analyst, Ming-ChiKuo’s latest report shows that iPhone 5S will probably adopt convex sapphire glass as its HOME key, and iPhone 5S has a built-in fingerprint sensor.

From the first generation iPhone in 2007, HOME key then has been using recess design, but Ming-ChiKuo thinks that convex design will reserve more space for fingerprint sensor. Convex design will be more likely to be worn. And sapphire’s abrasion resistance will prevent surface scratches.

Ming-ChiKuo analyzes that Apple will not use the traditional optical recognition technology, but using AuthenTec’s RF and capacitive technology, which is better able to resist dust and other substances. AuthenTec company was founded in 1998, specializing in fingerprint reader and security solutions. Apple bought the company with $ 356 million in 2012.
