Windows 7 and Windows XP occupy the major share of the household market

There is a progress of the Windows 8’s market share, but it is far behind the Windows 7 and Windows XP, and it has more space to occupy more market.

The market share of Windows 8 now becomes 5.4%, and has a 0.3% increase from a month ago, according to the survey. It’s the first time when it surpasses Windows Vista. Windows Vista’s market share continues to decline, to a total of 4.24%. The Windows 7 and Windows XP hold on the top two operating systems.

Windows XP shows strong vitality. Windows 7’s market share increased 0.12% last month. Windows 7 and XP are the most popular operating system at the moment, respectively with 44.49% and 37.19% market share.

It seems that the increase of Windows 8’s market share is transformed from the previous Windows Vista users. Users upgrade their system from an old to their favorites, from this point, Windows 8 seems not as successful as Windows 7. From Windows 7 to Windows 8, there is a larger jump. So the Windows 8.1 brings back some old features, such as Start button.  However, Microsoft will improve the experience of the system, and will convince us to upgrade to the new one.
