Google’s Android product vice president, Hugo Barra, has become a familiar face on Google’s important conferences. But after the release of Nexus 7 tablet, the Google executive made a decision to leave Google to find another job.

Hugo Barra issued a statement in his Google+ saying that he has indeed left Google and joined the Chinese brand—Xiaomi, as vice president of Xiaomi’s international business, to help expanding its business outside of China. And Hugo Barra was also very happy to remain in the ecosystem of Android system.

With highly customizable UI, flagship hardware configuration and reasonable price, Xiaomi obtain a wide range of user awareness in China. Hugo Barra leaving Google and joining Xiaomi is really surprising. Obviously Hugo Barra’s influence to Android is large. Joining Xiaomi perhaps has certain impact to the future mobile market.
